Broken PCI Express Tab

OK... I somehow managed to snap off the pci-express tab that keeps the video card locked in on my 780i FTW board.

My card seems to slowly vibrate out of the slot and then I receive no signal, and it is a super pain to just open the case and push the card back in multiple times a day now, sometimes needing a reboot.

Is there anything I can do to lock the card in there? Is there like a silicon or a glue I can use to stabilize the card and keep it stuck?

I don't recommend it, but you could use some hot-glue and just put enough over that small tab that doesn't have any copper pins on it. That will lock it into place, but hot-glue is pretty permanent. You will have to use a knife to cut it off when you want to remove the card.
Otherwise, you can also bend the metal part that locks it to the case in a direction to make seat too far into the socket.

Sometimes its the case that allows cards to slip from their port because of the screw that holds the card in place.

Measure the space between the top edge of the card and the inside of the case door. Then cut a block of material (some balsa wood works well for this) to fit in there and attach it to the inside of the case door. When you close the case it will exert some pressure on the top of the card and keep it in place.

those look pretty cool! I hope they work.
The only thing I question is... if the case is causing the card to lift up because they are screwed into it... then these won't work because they are also attach to the case.
There needs to be something securing the expansion cards to the motherboard not the case.

I've used a small wire tie wrap to do the same thing on an AGP card. If you can get one underneath the block-then piggy back them together.
