I've been doing some searching into the specs of this new "Fermi"aka Cuda based GPU & it's once again going to be a big jump in performance!
Not only has the GPU been redesigned from the bottom up, but so has the memory for even more performance gains...
How about a 80% increase in performance over what the GTX295 can do?! The GF104 (top of the Fermi line) is supposed to be able to do this!

If this is true, you'll be able to run Crysis on super high settings & it will be around 75 FPS on a single card!
WOW...
Now it's the wait an see game to find out the fact from fiction...

Here's a little taste of what's to come...check out the numbers being crunched & the FPS...WOW!
Also I included a screenshot of a GPU comparison chart to Fermi below...3 Billion transistors.
Not to mention L1 & L2 cache, ECC memory & C++ all included in this new Fermi architecture.

GF100 Fermi GPU demo...

Thanks for the research, MUff1n! This looks awsome. It would fold like a S.O.B. Would someone like to donate one to a porboy? no? Yes? Just for research, ya understand!

LOL Mike!
I bet this puppy is going to run in the $600 range easy...if not more.

Now I got to save up even more money to upgrade to the newest Nvidia architecture.

Yea, this is going to fold like nothing you've ever seen before!
As they said: " The Soul of a Supercomputer in the body of a GPU" so you know it's going to kickass!

More screenshots of Fermi to look at...btw, all of this info is FACT!

By the time I upgrade again lord knows where Intel & Nvidia are going to be in tech advances & system performance...already its really good & has advanced in leaps & bounds in the last few years!
Yes it will be a computer inside your computer!
Once they make more programs for it like codec conversion software it will cut time to 1/4 of what it takes now!

Yea I know all about the Dev shortcut to all the controls in W7 aka Godmode & already have it setup in my Accessories folder.

You should have already figured I knew about it as I've been using W7 since the beta.
But thanks for letting me know about it anyways...

That's interesting. ECC memory isn't used for performance, as you generally take a performance penalty when running with ECC enabled. On the other hand ECC memory tends to be used when you need to be able to detect errors to prevent trashed data from affecting results.

The use of ECC suggests that it is more aimed at number crunching rather than graphics.

Then this would be great for folding huh!
They also said it will have GDDR5 memory so maybe this makes up for the performance hit using ECC?
I'm still amazed at 3 billion transistors on it! That's over 4x as many as my current 8800GTS has!

Whatever the case it's going to be interesting to see some gaming benchmarks when Fermi finally hits the market.
