Card overclocking

I just got a Radeon 8500. i downloaded a tweaking program but i dont know how hig i can overclock it to safely. Does ayone know?

There is no hard and fast rule to how far you can overclock. If you're using stock cooling, you may not get too far. www.2cooltek.com has a good cooling kit for the Radeon that's under $30. I installed that, and it dropped my temps 5*C-10*C. Also comes with ramsinks.

Basically, take it as far as you can until you get artifacts, then back it down a bit. Let us know how well it works for you.

Can use a utility like powerstrip 3.12 or 3.15 (found here) to make the actually speed changes. Go in small increments, don't just ramp up the speed, go 5mhz at a time.

I'd add too Pinky's suggestion - Go 5MHz at a time 'till you're 10% over the standard clock speed, then up it by 2MHz - better safe than sorry!
