Radeon 8500 64MB DDR vs. GF3 Ti200 At stock speeds, which of these is better? They are both around the same price. Also, does the 8500 have any issues with the 8K3A? I know the Ti200 has a few minor things, cuz i have one. I'm looking for a card for $100 +- $10 for a customer; suggestions are welcome.

I have an 8500 retail. It would not install on my KT133 based system. It went right into my KT133A system with no problems or bugs yet. My system is a 1GHz TBird @ 1.4GHz on and Iwill KK266, 256mb Crucial PC133 CAS 2 RAm, Radeon 8500 retail (at stock speed) onboard sound, winmodem, win NIC, 30GB ATA100 7200rpm WD HDD. 16x Pioneer DVDrom. I get around 7700 in 3Dmark2001se and it plays DVDs without any dropped frames.

the radeon is without doubt the faster and the better. For a hundred bucks you'd only be able to get a oem radeon, (lower speed than the retail) but it would still wup the geforce3 ti200s butt. I would reccomend though that you save up for a geforce4 ti4200. You can find them for 140 dollars online and they are much faster than the above two cards, even a stock speeds. If you are looking to OC you can push one of them to geforce 4600 levels.
