Who's into destroying their sound system with LOUD sounds?

Heh, the topic says it all! Who likes to really cane their sound system with some loud stuff?

I've been playing around, and I found some files that are just perfect for REALLY showing off what your sound system can do. I'm not going to upload them here, because they're huge! I might convert them to MP3 if it doesn't destroy the quality at all, and if anyone wants them?

Does anyone have a man enough sound system? Does anyone wanna annoy the heck out of their neighbours?

All the sounds I've got have some kind of reference, whether it's the noise of birds, or someone shouting, so you can set your system up for the FULL effect.

I'd recommend that you have a very good all round system - these will tax sub, mid and treble! Oh, don't blame me if someone calls the police!

Wink

I have a very good sat/sub system playing along as well, so I think I got all the frequencies covered. And I just love to play the music loud!

I'm interested, but what is the nature of these sounds. Are they like a test pattern for sound setup, or like just really loud porno

Anyway, if you upload them somewhere, I'll attempt to get the police called.

Ok, from a few quick questions to various people, I've found out what the tracks are in more detail.

I have one track that's an F16 and a Tornado doing a flypast at approx 1000mph, with full afterburners. This one's fun, as it's stereo, so you can stand in the middle of your room listening to the birds singing just before the peace is shattered by two large fast noisy aircraft making a heck of a lot of noise.

I have another track that's apparently a historical recording of someone firing a chieftain tank. You can hear (if you turn it up enough) the orders being shouted, down to the order to fire closely followed by a very loud noise, and then a little later the noise of the shell hitting whatever the target is.

Apparently they're both used for testing PA systems when the engineer wants to really wind the neighbours up...

In MP3, the Jet flypast is 1.8Mb, and the Chieftain is 1.6Mb. In WAV, the Jet flypast is 10Mb, and the Chieftain is 9Mb.

That depends where I want to host them! (;
I'd say a minimum raw is about 20K/sec, if all the connections in the middle are up to it.

Okay, because if you hook me up with them, I can be a host for them for other people to upload from me too. I get about 30k upload speeds.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the files AidanII, they are awesome! I'm sorry I didn't have more time on ICQ, but I was helping my dad putting up a new kitchen table, and my dad's getting old so he needs my help.

Thanks again

How do you get them? You ask me nicely, and you have either ICQ, AIM, or an FTP client. (;

They're actually designed for audio engineers to run tests on PA equipment. Be warned that they're not processed, compressed, limited or otherwise mangled for consumer use. There [B]are[/u] large amounts of subsonics in both recordings! (That's below 20Hz, for those who don't know.) The ATP5 won't have the power to really reproduce this stuff, with a sub that's only 45W (what kinda watt - PMPO?). I'd recommend you try it on the PA rig if it's tuned up right and it's running decent stereo imaging. Recommend using a compressor/limiter if you're gonna do that though. I'm not responsible for blown tweeters or other damaged equipment.
