Sound problems with XP
I loaded XP pro on my system.

 

I have a Turtle Beach Montego II sound card. The OS loaded the card as a Aureal sound card which I beleive is what the chipset is. After XP is up for some time the sound just stops working. I figure that the drivers that came with XP are good enough. I tried loading the TB sound drivers from the web site and XP tells me thay are not a match.

 

Should I try them anyway? New Sound Card perhaps? Any Ideas?

Well, no go. I tried everything I could think of. Eve tried forcing the TB drivers. XP does not like it if you do this so be warned....

Anyone know of a good budget sound card with 4 speaker out?

Just saw an OEM 5.1 live for 20 bucks on pricewatch...

 

Is this XP compatable?
