Cheap bang for the buck, the GF3-200's are really nice! I got a new one from a classifieds section for $70.

If you are willing to spend a bit more, look into the GF4-TI4200. Still fairly cheap but with great performance.

Welcome to AOA, watsaru!

The Voodoo 5500 is not a bad Vidcard. I still have a Voodoo 3000 PCI that I'm using. Yes, it's embarrassing, but it's a very good card!

For the price you suggest, I personally would get a GeForce 3 Ti200 or Ti500. Other people may suggest an ATI 8500. Looks like GF 3 Ti200's are more like $110 now and the GeForce 3 Ti500's are ~$140.

Whatever Vidcard you decide on, I always avoid "Brand X" cards. Maybe this is a mistake, but I feel better with a well known brand.

I don't really mind have a no name brand video card. Until now I've sticked to ASUS, but my new GeForce3-200 does a good job...

Sure you can overclock it. I've had mine overclocked a good bit..

They are a semi off brand, but i highly recommend eVGA. Im not sure if this is the norm, but my TI4400 can do 300/700 with no extra cooling except for an 80mm blowhole. Also they have great support. For example: When i first got my card i couldnt get my VIVO to work, turns out they sent the wrong driver CD and i didnt know about the VIVO driver. After emailing tech support back and forth a couple times we discovered i had the wrong CD and he told me to go download it. I figured that was it, but about 2 weeks later i got their VIVO upgrade kit, driver CD, another VIVO dongle, and another copy of power director. Certainly a nice supprise.

The nvidia GF4 Ti4200, hands down current price/performance winner for around $150. Next up would be the Radeon 8500 for under $100, and then the GF3 Ti200 for about the same.

Any G4 MX440 or 460 is fully sufficient for all current games - works flawless with 98se! No need to spend more money except you are a benchmark score hunter!

You gonna still be wanting your voodoo 5??? I've always fancied owning a bit of gaming history, I had a voodoo4 for ages until it packed in on me. Send me a PM if you're interested in selling, we'll work something out.

Just looked it up lowest I'v found is 132.00 so for about 40.00 more I'll just wait. But thanks for the info. The 8500 is clocked at 200 but the Ti is at 550 I think that is a bit better . The truth be told I'm about to build a whole new system. I'm going with Soyo ultra plat 333 board the white one. Segate 80 gig hd, Amd 1800Xp cpu, 256ddr 2700 and of course Ti4200 128 . I haven't decided on a case yet but I'm leaning to the Thermaltake Dragon cases. I know you guy's like Epox but I like the look of the Soyo and all the reviews sound good.
