New Ati driver works great!

Just downloaded the new driver(6.13.10.6166) for my Ati 8500 128 ddr graphics card. Very pleased with it. Even though my score was a little lower on the 3dmark 2001, The graphics flow was a lot more smoother with no pauses or hangs. You can download the driver here for windows xp users: http://mirror.ati.com/support/produc...&cmdNext=GO%21

Make sure to download the control panel to. This will enable you to tweak it some.

I was fooling around with trying other drivers for my Ati 8500. What I found out was a little surprising. The way Ati words it you would think the driver is the same regardless of what card your using it with. Wrong! I updated my driver to several different drivers for other cards. All drivers were in the 6.13.10.6166 package. Then I benched them with 3dmark 2001, here's the results.

8500 series driver: 8194
8500\le: 8134
9700 pro: 8150
Saphire Atlantis 9000 pro: 8094
Fic at009 9000 pro: 8144
Excalibur 9000: 8144
s-media 9000: 8606!!! My highest score Yet!

The S-Media was fast and had smooth running graphics. No hangs! Even the polygons ran a lot smoother, they usually have hangs in it. Also I found that when you go into the control panel and set the mipmap detail level to performance and leave texture preference on high quality the frame rates go even higher! Well hope this helps someone achieve their highest score like I did.
