Professional, High Quality, Budget(ish) recording/audio capture card. Hi there, I have just started composing songs and riffs on my guitar, and am wanting to record them; I currently use the Sound Storm's MIC IN port to record, so the quality of sound is VERY poor. I am wanting to know what make/model of sound capture card I should get, for professional recording; preferrably low budget, but good quality. Thanks Offie |
Have you looked at the Audigy 2 cards? The Platinum Pro comes with an I/O box, so you can just plug your guitar straight in. It comes bundled with a plethora of mixing and sampling software and can apply special effects to your guitar whilst you are playing. |
hmm.. sounds good... but im wanting to keep internal if possible... thanks for your advice. any other ideas? |
I think the earlier version had the extra jack inputs on a drive bay plate instead of an external box. I don't know if they are still available 'new'. |
What kind of guitar recordings are you trying to do? If you're trying to capture the sound of an electric guitar, then micing up the amp seems to be the best way to do it. The amp adds it's own colour, and substantially alters the sound. |
found something by a company called Line6 called "Guitarport"; a usb connected guitar adapter for high quality recordings. Any more ideas besides GUitarport? offie |
