Killing it softly?? Hi again, I installed a Geforce 6800GT last week into my machine and after flicking through the forum I noticed you need a 350W PSU and after checking mine is only 200W does this mean my machine is either not getting the best out the card or is it just slowly cooking up a nice 6800 hog roast? Cheers David |
What other components do you have in your computer? You should get a new PSU right away. Using a 200W means that you will face frequent re-boots as there are probably too many components in your computer that combined want more juice than your PSU can supply. |
I have a CD – rewriter, DVD drive, 2 hard disks, and 1 floppy drive all as standard. I was thinking of getting a 600W PSU, as that will supply some of the fans I was going to get. Is there a lot of rewiring involved in changing PSU’s as I have 4 years guarantee and free upgrades in PCWorld and was thinking of getting them to do it as I have some annoying OS problems Cheers |
Get a new OCZ powerstream PSU it has adjustable rails and shuts down when under too much load which is very hard to do so it never kills itself. Really sweet PSU |
How about this one? http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/fro....html?mv_pc=79 Cables can be plugged in as needed. |
