| I'd be surprised if there wasn't some clock in there! It may just be a cheap ceramic resonator rather than a crystal. If you fancy taking some pics, I could take a look (; The disadvantage of bringing the scanning rate up is the CCD requires more light to make the same exposure level, but I'm sure that you could increase the brightness! I'm not actually sure what you want to acheive by bringing up the scanning rate though, cuz generally it's already pretty high! AidanII

| You might like to try an IR emitter instead before you try the blue LED. Most CCD and CMOS sensors are more sensitive to IR than to other wavelengths, unless they have a filter. Perhaps if the IR emitter works well, you could just add the blue LED for eyecandy? AidanII
