Computer inside an nes....

I've been playing with the idea for quite some time, but I could never find a small enough mobo. I just wanna put a computer inside a nintendo case..integrated everything. No cdrom. Just mobo with everything, psu and hard drive...any ideas?

If 9" x 7.5" is small enough, a Flex ATX will work. That is what I used when I jammed a PIII into a mac color classic. Those are exact dimensions. Intel only, sorry. I have never seen a flex socket a board. The intel is better suited for small enclosures anyway. You are building a computer, not a toaster oven.

You are, I am assuming, talking about an orrigional NES (loaded like a VCR.) I know I have one arround here. I can test fit the board if you like.. I just have to find the thing. I thinking it is in the closet, and getting in there is no small task.

lol, yeah, I'm talking the original nes. I have a 600 celeron 2 sitting around that I could use for that purpose. I remember looking at micro atx, and it just missing it by cm's. Also, how small are the flex psu? Or would I want to get a 1u server psu?

Thanks

The Psu will not be fun. The smallest ones I have found are at http://www.power-on.com

The 135 watt one should fit, but it would take up your drive space..

A laptop HDD is a must.

Wait!

I found my nintendo.. IT IS SOOOOO PERFECT!

Pics in a few.. (135w won't fit. 90watt will. 90 is plenty with no cards, and a celery. )

I'm gonna take it apart, and let you know if it will fit. (I'm not stealing your hack. Just testing it. I'll let you actually do it first.. then I will be copying.)

sweet. what mobo is that? I don't mind other people "testing" out ideas to make sure they actually work.

It's an intel d810emo. No PS/2. The only thing in the back of it is SVGA, 2 USB, sound in/out, and 10/100 ethernet.

http://www.centrix-intl.com/

$45

They have USB keyboards and mice cheap too.

max speed: PIII 800eb

well, that's all it needs. I have a Articcooler haca001 Agilent cooler.do you think it's thin enough? I also take it you can't overclock those?

No overclocking potential. I'd actually go with a copper slim 1U heatsink and fan. You can get 1U pci risers with a ribbon cable too. That would be sweet. (By the way. That boards onboard agp can play quake.)

Anybody know if there are any AGP riser cards out there? One of those could be quite useful . . .
