I ran my P3 450 at 600 using 2.4 volts for ages.
I think stock on the old katami processors was 2v, so 2.4 wasnt much of a step.

it died evenatully but must have been overclocked like that for 18 months, and that was only air cooled.

2.4volts is a HUGE step from 2.0 mine is 2.0, and I wouldn't go above 2.3with just air cooling... and even then I wouldn't run it like it....

I have a question...
How do people get these speads for their C466s?? I thought they were multiplier locked.. which means you can have either 7 X 83 = 583 or 7 X 100 = 700 so, how do they get teh speeds in the 700s?? hmm,,

Yes, the C466's have a locked Multiplier of x7. It's odd that folks got them to run faster than 700 Mhz Clock Speed, but no one got exactly 700 Mhz Clock Speed(100 Mhz FSB x7.) 100 Mhz FSB is where lots of early Celly's hit their stride. Looks like the C466 is something of an oddball.

Ocer's CPU Database lists 103 Mhz FSB x7= 721 Mhz, Clock Speed. The only believable Clock Speed faster than that is 106 Mhz FSB x7= 742 Mhz. Now that I think about it, the Celeron 500's were lousy OCer's. You were much better off with a C366 that ran at 550 Mhz, on a 100 Mhz FSB. I have one that does this at stock Core Voltage. Nyuk, nyuk. Bruddah, that was an expensive C366. Worth it at the time. Ah, memories.

Not at all, it's just that the data about this particular CPU is weird. The results at the top of the C466 listing just seem... unreliable. One person says something like "yadda Mhz--but it won't boot into Win." Another wrote something like "100% unstable, with Vapochill."

WTH is that supposed to mean? 721 Mhz is the end of the line, as far as I can tell. I dunno if the C466 was simply an unpopular processor. Or is it bad at OCing? Maybe both. In other words, if you need this C466 to last, it might be a good idea to declare victory at 583 Mhz.

Yes, H2O cooling at ~2.2v is overkill. Unless you want to save this dahlink C466 for your great grandchildren. Highly unlikely, I'm thinking.
