Just a thought.....ditch the goldfish, and use the PC in the tank as a heater for tropical fish?

If you want a sealent that will allow heat to pass through but not water, might I recomend teflon? It's the stuff they use on frying pans, you should be able to find a place that sells it online in a sprayable format.

It was suggested to me by one of my friends to use a clear silicone stuff, u know like for doing around a tub or on a window. he suggested that i cover the mobo and chips with it to waterproof it. what do you guys think?

using a old P.O.S. as a test was my original plan, then when that worked i was going to use a mediocre system for the final product.

As far as I'm aware, RN got bored with computers and moved into cars instead. Knowing RN, that probably means it didn't happen.

Nope its all good. Theres a bunch of others that work just like it too.

The cooling is supposedly very good, and the fans can run all day under it without overheating or damaging the bearings.

Yeap.

The fans spin under the oil just like in the air. Does them no harm.
