Gainward 7600GS PCI-e Voltage Mod

Phatic has written us a nice article regarding how to modify the Gainward 7600GS:

"If you own a Gainward 7600GS, and would like to squeeze some extra performance out of this mid-range card, then look no further. This article will show you everything needed to achieve some very impressive clock speeds, for quite a small cost."

After that o/c, the 3dmark03 scores are just a little below a 6800GS.

It was pretty fun to do as well, apart from the hour or so where I was trying to work out how to remove some solder that got stuck between two IC pins. lol.

Impressive mod, just shows what you can achieve when you have the guts to play around with electronics.

Would this work with a 7600GT? 750 on the core though! Another 10 and you'll have a 10 of the speed of the name (7600) . Awesome mod dude!

This mod works on most graphics cards, though the places to solder on the pot's will be different for each. It's usually fairly easy to work it out, but working out the voltage measurement points is another story...

Hm, I might have a play around sometime soon and get the pencil mod worked out - this should make it a lot easier for those who aren't so confident with the soldering iron. And also considering how fragile those soldered joints are... I almost broke them when taking some of those pics. lol, one of those wires is barely hanging on there...
