I had an issue finding the propper caps for my boys GF4 card. They were leaking. I picked up some same value caps but went to a higher voltage. It has worked great. Actually a little better OC since the replacement.

I did make sure I got the caps as close to the board as possible.

Thanx for the input fella's.
Would shortening the wire to as little as possible help any?

I'll keep my fingers X'ed and see how it goes.

Yes, you want the leads as short as possible to eliminate any stray capacitance.

Actually, in this case extra capacitance would be a good thing. However, the long leads add inductance between the capacitor and the load, which reduces the effectiveness of the capacitor and that is a Bad Thing.

Any news on the card's progress, Ajopz?

Hey,
I left the cap wires at about 2 inches long, didnt want to tempt fate by hacking it about again.

Its still running ok, not great but ok.
Temps have dropped by 5C.
Its abit touchy when running 3dmarks, one minute it gets 10,000 the next it is struggling to hit 7000!

As soon as i get round to ordering a new psu I will be installing new mobo and GC, so it can sit as stand by then
