Celery 3s--Turning one mistake into 2?

well.... last night I got my panties in a bundle over the TUSL2-C not having any vcore adjustment in the BIOS... So I ran out (over the net) and ordered up an Abit ST6, a 1.2GHz OEM Cel3 & 256 of some Crucial PC133 CL2 (man, is my wife gonna be pissed )... Needless to say I acted out of frustration & haste, never a good combo...

Anyway... now I find out that BIOS 1010 for the TUSL2-C has vocre adjustments... I have 1009 & can flash to 1010.... OK, so I acted both stupidly & out of frustration and haste... now, I am pissed...

So, at this point looks like I'll be in a good position to do a little comparision of Philipine vs. Malay chips, as well as the TUSL2-C vs. the ST6...

"Finals" are done in the next week or so... I get to some OCing...

I've learned to sit on computer decisions 24hrs before going through with them. I found that most of the time seat of the pants decisions turn out stupidly..that's the only thing I don't like about pay pal; it's too easy to buy stuff...

Sorry Kris, this is partly my fault as well! I should never have PM'ed you about the TUSL2-C Vcore adjustment issues!!

I'll gladly take one of the boards + CPU off your hands for nothing, just to 'make them go away'...

its the least I can do to help!

yes.. Daniel... I will... Not telling her would be harder on me...

Pinky... thanks for the offer!!!

I just bought a full tower though & have my Enlight as a spare... I even have a vid card, sound, nic & hard drive...

Either the Abit or Asus is gonna live in my new case with the Radeon you helped me pick out... depends on the best OC... the other system will be on my workbench using the keyboard, mouse & monitor when i'm not building

(YIKES!!! a heatsink might be something I could use... hadn't thought about that until just now....)

What were you thinking Kris???

Between Pinky's pin wrapping knowledge, and my knowledge when it comes to Vcore hacks, we would have fixed you up good even if the board didn't have Vcore options in the BIOS . . .

At least you will get another folding machine out of this. I have a suggestion, to help smooth things over with the wife, give her the new pute as a christmas gift(that is if she is the type that would appreciate it) . . .

A friend of mine owes me a small sum of money, when I get him to cough it up I'll have spend a fraction of it to build another machine just to keep up with all you folding@home crazies.

Very true!!! Probably will still use the hacks too then have the bios for tweaking

Did the "sure thing" and bought her jewelry... LOL.... She is a "Mac girl" but I like your ideas... maybe I can loan it to her & get her "PC-ized"

Now that's the best news I heard today... I've had to buy more hardware just to compete too... soon we will all have 2GHz-12 PC networks just to get email... (and, of course, Fold )

OK... got the parts today... told the wifey & also that i bought my anniversary present for her (that is, the present she will give me... what a strategy, yes?)

Also bought her the Jewelry LOL

After the 15th (our date) I will have the C3 1.2 (is phillipines )... and ST6 mobo & crucial 256meg PC133 cs2

then I can compare the lot to my C3 1.2 Malaysia, Asus TUSL2-C & Corsair 256 PC150 Cs2...

Should be a bunch of fun & a good informational review!!!

SKILL: If one feels compelled to "do the right thing" and confess, then it never hurts--and is IMHO good planning--to have a little brib... er, I mean "gift," for the judge...
