Dow off by 700+? The bailout as written by Paulson is totally unacceptable. I don't care if the DJIA is down 1000 points tomorrow.
Like they listen to me, we're out of pocket a zillion bucks each by Wednesday, I reckon.

Are we facing a financial crash that will interfere with Everyman's daily routine? I hope not! Everyman didn't steal trillions from his own pocket. Or did he? Not while awake!

Soon enough the public will figure out how threadbare the dollar is. Or will they? "The public" isn't getting smarter.

No matter who wins the presidency in November, we're pretty much boned. Greed monsters have sunk our ship of state. Glub, glub, glub.

"We have met the enemy and he is us!"
ANYONE who didn't see this coming didn't want to. We Voted and Elected this! TWICE!

Enjoy the flutes of our labors. Welcome to Consequences that except no excuses. Welcome to the inevitability of causality.

In a Democracy the people lead. Can we all agree that our leadership has well and truly sucked? No? OK!

Welcome then the the GREAT DEPRESSION created that the slowest people on the planet could one day get the message!

Americans are going to go hungry and homeless over this! When Americans go hungry, large parts of the world starve.

We had no right to be this stupid. Nature is about to agree with me in terms the world will understand.

I hate to use Nature against you all, but you simply have not been listening....

I'll be quite now...the big noise is coming...

We allowed electoral fraud to put monsters into office. I only hope that the bahstages will leave peacefully in January. Perhaps they feel that they've done enough damage and will rest on their laurels? Pardon everyone and skip to Paraguay, there's a good frat boy!

Thought I'd poke my nose in and break up the chain.

It doesn't surprise me reading through it. I Don't think it would be to hard to know where you were at. All in all, my thinking as well, with a few twists down a different road.
It doesn't relay surprise me, times were different, I was different, But i voted for Jr. on the first round. For a while i figured I had done the right thing. Then I started to get that funny taste in the back of my throat. You know the one, the one you try to convince your self you don't know what it is, but you realy do. Until the time came when I just had to say admit to myself that the man I had helped to become Pres. of the USA is a boob.
Then it didn't take to long to know he was going to hurt us. The only question was how much.
Well, he's done a bang up job, don't ya think?[pun intended]
I wonder how long, or if we can, get back a decent. reputation with the rest of the world.

A first class bang up job for his base, the haves and the have mores. The 400 Americans at the top have the same wealth as the 150000000 Americans at the bottom of the food chain. The worst income disparity ever in this land.

It's a shame that George wasn't half of a songwriting team like Lennon and McCartney were. Old news? Guilty!

Hey, he may be a boob, but he's OUR boob.

My cure for the economic blues is: stop watching the market day-to-day, turn off my TVs, don't open my statements for now.

The market has been historically the best investment. It will continue to be so. Wait for a short time and you will see.

Relax!

I look at it like this, most people aren't rich enough to lose money in the market...we should count our blessings...and hoard our pennies..":O}

Alas, I have no shirt to lose in "the Market." Wait a minute, sometimes no shirt is OK!

Precious metals are very cheap compared to fairly recent high price marks. Platinum is not much higher than gold atm. Palladium and especially Rhodium are available for a song. The Platinum Group of metals aren't metals that everyone recognizes as desirable, so they aren't the best hedges against severe depressions and possible societal breakdowns. OTOH, gold and silver are recognized universally as worthwhile units of exchange. Silver is dirt cheap of late, yet difficult to secure at today's price. A 40% premium seems to be the magic number for silver dealers. Word to the wise--it's worth it.
