| Hell no I don't want to go. Is it possible that some of the anti-war idealism of the middle class during the Viet Nam horror was generated by pure self interest? Naa, all of those kids were seeing only the big picture. Cough! And where are the baby boomers now that are protesting our current Asian misadventures? Thin on the ground. Is it different when your own butt is off of the hook?

| Thank you, World Wide Words. Now I know for certain. But do you? Ask me if you care? OK. How yawning can a period of silence be? As wide as the vast Pacific? Working on it...

| On one hand you have a 50th Anniversary Model Rolex Submariner wristwatch that retails for $6400 locally. On the other hand you only get one sixtieth birthday. That's a big pile of hundred dollar bills. But I'm getting older fast and have wanted one of these ridiculously expensive watches for many years. A true dilemma. What to do? Suggestions please.

| A man who looks ahead would eschew the bauble and purchase a small pile of gold or a large pile of silver. Or a stack of Norwegian Krone or Canadian dollars. Thank you Mr Know It All.

| A man who looks ahead will see that the only security that is, is the inner security found in realizing we are dust on the wind...When one sees things exactly as they are without any sort of self deception or illusion; one excepts one's fate and goes to meet his death reassured weather it comes early or late is without importance...IMHO ":O}

| The previous post referred to a post "signed" by Mr Know It All. This leaves how much room for gainsaying or rebuttal? Pinioned again, words of wisdom generate thinking in my noggin. Thanks Dan!

| A moment of silence for sanity thrown out the window, welcome to Washington DC. Many windows there are wide open, ready for such a common activity. And we are paying the heating bill. Tra la la.

| Perhaps the reign of Mr Mugabe is in the same league? What a guy! Yet all the world seems to love a chithead of such magnitude. Or at least we're too afraid of him to send him to the Netherlands. Monday yay, hooray.

| Ordered to stand at the second grade classroom door out in the hallway, Billy faced a dilemma. "Can I make it to the boy's room and back before the teacher lets me back into the classroom? What if she tells me to take my seat and I'm not here?" Minutes passed and his pressing need became more urgent. "Can I get there and back in time? No, you already wasted too much time, you'll never make it!" Billy crossed his legs, willing himself to hold it in. "But I really gotta go!" Too late, the package sagged into his underwear. "Come in Billy, and no more nonsense from you!" said the teacher. The turd rattled down his leg and trousers to the floor, right next to the desk of Jonathon, the teacher's pet. The teacher resumed her explanation of the compelling math problem on the blackboard and Billy walked to his desk at the back of the classroom and sat down, squishing ever so slightly. A minute passed, Jonathan raised his hand. "Teacher, a terrible stench has enveloped me," he complained. She turned back to the blackboard. Jonathon again interrupted the teacher. "Well, what is it Jonathon?" she asked. "It's really bad," he insisted. She walked toward his desk far enough to see the cause of his complaint. "Well, wrap it in something and take it to the boy's room" she said. The classroom erupted in laughter as Jonathon lifted the precious relic from the floor and walked to the door. It's always something.
