Many nights ago, during a commercial break in The Late Late Show, I saw this....

It is no spoof, I saw it with me own eyes, I tell ye! I love the "Not intended for use in homes with children."

Makes me wonder whether they're worried about the child getting a hold of it, or the parent accidentally blasting that oddly small shadowy figure in the hallway to kingdom come.

Soft bedclothes and a cold hard gun don't mix very well. Ugly juxtaposition yet I can see the attraction. Wish I couldn't!

And of course it's "only" $40. It's 3 pieces of flat iron welded together and bent...

I prefer the 45 on the nightstand approach myself, but I am single and have no kids so if there is a shadowy figure in my hallway it's getting a hole in it. Might be good for the Nascar fans though. They can match their bedroom with the back window of their truck.

Is $40 too much to pay when the security of yer family is at stake? Long ago I kept a .357 in a cardboard box by the bed. I used to sleepwalk sometimes so I thought it better to give up the firearms. Walking down the middle of the street in underwear carrying? I don't think the neighbors would see the funny side of it.

Well, it's getting hot here. It can most certainly be a biography, I think.

I can usually find something in the weather to complain about, thank goodness!

But not today, it's supposed to warm up to 57F. And 67F tomorrow. Only two more months of Spring. Winter just wants to hold on, and is doing so, thank you very much!

It wouldn't hurt for me to stop and count my blessings once in a while. The truth is that I live like a king compared to at least four billion unfortunate bipeds on this planet. And I bitch and moan?

No matter how bad it is, there is always someone surviving worse.

The hardest part for me is determining who could use a hand to get them headed in the right direction and who is just looking for a hand out.

Would anyone take their $300, $600, etc "stimulus payment" from Uncle Sam and donate it to reducing the national debt by a micromicron? Well, a billionth of that, maybe. Just wondering.

Wonder no longer, I decided that the gummint needs the bucks more than I do. I doubt they'll be put in the national debt ledger, what's nine trillion among friends?

And the Pentagon can't account for three trillion bucks over the years? Is there something wrong with that picture?

Roger Miller wrote great country songs with a humorous twist. He died young naturally. "Chugalug, chugalug, makes me wanna holler hide-ee-o, burns your tummy don't cha know, chugalag, chugalug." Sounds better than it reads.

"Smokin' cigarettes and watching Captain Kangaroo.." the good life? Don't think so! "Counting flowers on the wall doesn't bother me at all..." He doth protest too little for his own good, I'm thinking.

Argh, the "$5 foot long" song from the Subway commercials is stuck in my head. Madison Avenue--take a hike.
