A partial answer is that Anandtech used 2 Corsair 256 Mb PC3200 TwinX sticks and 1 512 Mb Corsair PC3200 XMS stick in their review of this mainboard. It's lucky that Corsair is so inexpensive. NOT.

I'm using corsair 3200 on a P4C800 with a 3.0C and corsair 3500 on a P4P800 with a 2.4C. I've had great results with the corsair, but I would stay away from their newest 3700 dimms.

I just set up a P4C800-E last night. Looks like it loves year-old Corsair XMS3500. In fact, I think it can match the 4PCA3+ in the ability to drive this ram at fast CAS settings. Highest I did at 2-2-2-5 was DDR445 at 2.85 volts max the board offers. That's on a par with a 4PEA+ and 4PCA3+. And I'm running two 512 MB sticks. I plan to do the volt mod to enable 3.2 VDIMM. I believe one peep is running DDR467, 2-2-2-5 at 3.1 volts on this board.

On the VCORE end, no comparison to the 4PCA3+: it goes up to 1.95 in the BIOS! I thought my L310xxx Malay was good for only 3.422 volts, but I have it running now at 292, 5:4, 2-4-2-5-(4) or 3.504 gig at 1.61 actual VCORE, and I'm on air.

I wanted to compare overclock to the 4PCA3+ at 1.55 VCORE except the Asus board overvolts by .05-.06 so at the lowest setting of 1.525, I am running 1.585 actual. But I believe the 4PCA3+ can overclock just as well if it could get over 1.55 VCORE.

Send a message via ICQ to Mrspec3

Get OCZ PC3700El gold

Mine hasn't yet maxed out and it's at 270Mhz 1:1 and can do over 300Mhz 5:4 with only 2.7V

Yeap, OCZ Gold 3700 or 4000 for highest FSB, or OCZ Platinum 3500 for tightest timmings at..say DDR480 or so
