Well, that was on the AI7 and it would seem that the AI7 doesn't like this Adata very much. My AI7 is very flaky about RAM it would seem, didn't like my KHX 3200 BH-5 either.
I put the sticks in my IC7-G and was able to take them to 270 1:1 which is where my cpu hits it's limit. I wasn't able to tighten the timings at high fsb with the RAM, but I am pretty happy with the results. I would love to have a good 2.4C to really test the limits of this Adata.

Hey, Perc
Did you notice the RAM went up to $68 from $55 for the 256MB sticks. Glad I ordered when I did. Still cheaper than the Corsair or Mushkin, but I think the Geil would be a better deal at this point.

Now up to $71 dollars, Perc. Looks like I would deffinately choose Geil, though if I had a good 2.4C and these sticks proved to go much higher, I would still consider them.

Hey, perc. It's been quite a while since this was posted, but check it out. I finally got around to getting a good 2.4c and a board that could take me t osome high fsb. THis A-data owns. Ran it dual channel at 290 1:1 and it was 3D stable!!!
I am going to see if there is any more left in it. I am using a volt modded Abit IS7, but I was only at 2.83v to bring it this high. I am going to try and tune it so I am around 3v's, but I have read the sticks won't like much more than that.

Hey guys

I Don't run my new OCZ PC 4000 Gold Rev.2 at 1:1. But can I play too?
I been having fun with it and it does get a pretty good score. So if you don't mind I would like to post it. for comparison's sake. Thanks!!

Too bad that is a glitch with Sandra. That bandwidth is not possible with those speeds and timings. Yes, I have seen this at Xtreme and even Opp couldn't get those scores. That 82xx sandra score was done at 276 1:1 with 4-4-4-12 timings, not possible.

Now, if you want some nice FSB and RAM scores at 5:4 timings.....

Thats funny, cause he was able to do it with different ram on a different boards. DDR and DDR2, its not a glitch. These new prescotts have something special added to them. Just because OPP cant do it doesnt meen its a glitch.

A good northwood can do 3.4-3.6. The 2.4C is running 200mhz fsb stock, so to get near the real potential of the CPU, you have to manage FSBs in the 275-300 range. AFAIK, the only memory consistently capable of 300mhz are DDR2.

did i read "something special about these prescotts?" I got one, what was this pertaining to?

I've been running my bh-5s and no matter what with 3.2 they hit 250, 1:1 at any timings, save for some of the tighter ones, and at this point its better to run the proc 250x16 and 5:4 divider, tightening the timings to 2-2-2-5. Anyone think that some TCCD's woudl do better? I've read patriots doing 2-2-2-5 at ~200-210, and 280 at 3-4-4-8, since I can't give my bh-5s ne more voltage, and they wont pass 250, anyone think that I stand a better chance TCCD?

Of course I've not ruled out the cpu clock yet...maybe that 14x multiplier bios for abit will be available soon

Hey Keith, that is no mistake. The SL6Z3 came out with the intel Extreme editions . Why? Well you see they started life as 3.2 EE chips but they failed the level 3, 2mb cache test. The core itself was good to go just a prob with the on die cache. So they set them at 2.4 ghz and turned off the level 3 cache and shipped them. Let me tell you Overclockers went nuts for them. They have a larger core area which it is believed help to spread the heat. everyone knew they would without question hit 3.2 ghz since that was what they were designed to do to begin with.
That is why the different stepping and revision. Mine now sits in a little box that my 3.0C came in wondering what it's future holds. Will it once again come to life and plunder and pillage faster chips, or will it just sit there suffering in it's own little world of darkness and anguish. It still has the highest cpu score on the Aquamark arc for chips between 3637 and 3700. There are literally 100's of prescotts OC'd to 4.0 ghz that are way behind it's cpu score!! Well that is the story of the 2.4 SL6Z3.
Happy and yet, tragic.

WZ

PS. That cpu score on Aquamark is 11,956!
