Intel 810e drivers?

Quick question.

I (that is my granddaughter) got a hand me down Compaq Persario 5003US computer with Windows ME on it. I want to do a repartition, reformat, reinstall of Win 98se.

Do I need to download chipset drivers for it (compaq only has video, audio, and NIC drivers for it) or will the ones in windows do?

I think that 98SE's own drivers will do the trick, Staz.

Just as a note to others with old machines. Windows drivers worked fine with the exception of USB ports. Intel has several different downloads availible. The first one that stumbled upon (google search) wanted me to format my HDD then use a floppy to install Win 98se setup files then create a directory called (I don't remember what) and copy the .inf file to there then install the OS.

Second one I found was an end user driver package were I installed the OS then clicked the .exe file and then rebooted.

Also Compaqs drivers for the sound card were out of date and the drivers for the NIC and modem didn't work, and the graphics driver was 2 years old. Fun Fun Fun.

A trip to driverguide.com got me sorted out.
