Unhappy Asus L5800GM Laptop problem
I am attempting to fix a m8s laptop but having alot of problems finding the drivers for this machine. There are too many hardware errors in device manager to meantion! He doesnt have any of the driver disks, typical eh?

He runs windows xp home

I need:
Motherboard drivers
usb2 drivers
wirless network drivers
modem drivers
network drivers

and more!

I got the gfx and the sound sorted but the machine is in a right state! He tried to sort it out himself, and knows nothing about pc's apart from how to turn them on! Can anyone help me? I cant even find tech specs for the thing appart from this

but its all in french, and doesnt state what chipset etc the thing uses so having probs finding what hardware it uses, so cant hunt for drivers cos I dont know what im searching for! Help PLEASE!!

Threw looking around im GUESSING it uses SIS Chipset

They are not the right Laptops but they are using the same Asus casing and very similar hardware specs. So would I be right in assuming my m8s laptop probably uses the same hardware components? and so same drivers?

What graphics does the L5800GM have? It may be a model in the L5000 range.

Sounds like it might be similar to the L5000GM series, if not actually part of it then. Those use an Intel chipset.

So where can I get the drivers from and what ones? I hate working on laptops, at least with desktops you can SEE the hardware, I dare not open laptops up, get MY m8 to do that to mine.

You could try Asus's site and see what you can find for the L5000GM series.

goto site and download the Driverguide toolkit its a demo but will remain free for 24 hrs... the program can seekout unknown devices id and then you can search for the

driver on the site by just selecting your unknown device and then click search....

very handy tool for old MB and old components.......
