CPU Life.....

hi there guys i just have aquick question to ask....

one of my machines has a P4 2.66 cpu and i have it clocked to 3.1 mhz

the temp...is still normal (24)

and when i plays serious games the temp goes to the normal of about 40 odd.

have i over clocked it to much or am i fine the way its going.....

40C should be fine for that chip. At stock voltage, they are rated to run at a temp of about 90C or so.

My 3.06GHz@3.4GHz runs 55-60c when I do full load applications, and that is fine..

sounds like water cooling, or the mobo is reading off.

most of the time is 21 degrees while using the net...

and im using the fan that came with the processor

and im using CPU Cool the latest version to change FSB etc....(latest version)
the mother board is ASUS P4S800

and i check the temp with a external device...and it reads the same reading as the the winbond sensor

ill be starting my liquid cooling project in about 4 wks.......

my friends xp gets 64C idling...wonder if it has anything to do with the fact his hsf spins backwards?

right guys ive read the the folding section and if it helps people well then why not?

i have downloaded the software and its running now on my machine the temp has risen to 32 degrees. and i dont even notice it....

i hope that i can help someway while this Machine is on....(most of the time)

oh i forgot, i OC a Pentium cerleron 2gig to a 2805 mhz which i had no probs with all on the same motherboard that the pentium 4 is on....i think that the ASUS board that i have is pretty good for OC...well thats what i think anyway..

but the temp did rise just a little bit
