Mobo for my three point Oh?

Hi guys,

I'm really new to this whole overclocking thing so I'd really like to get it right. I've been reading around the forums lately but a few questions still need to be answered.

1) What kind of motherboard would best compliment a P4 3.0 Ghz Prescott?

2) What kind of cooling would be good enough to sustain my 3.0 if I tried to overclock it?

Uh... I think that's it for now. I'd really appreciate it if someone could answer those questions.

I can't answer 1, but the answer to 2 is "The best you can afford".

Good air cooling is a must for overclocking a Prescott, or so I've heard. Something like the all copper ThermalRight SLK-948U with a 90 mm fan.

Works well. I'm using the 948 with a 9cm SF2 @ 3500rpm. For a prescott, the fan will have to be turned up... I'd say it is the minimum to OC a prescott with.

For mobos, there are a number of good choices... Really high fsb will not be necessary since a 3ghz prescott will really not oc too much. Most decent boards can do 230mhz fsb pretty easily, which is where I would expect a prescott to top out.
