Epox 4PDA3I, @#% Epox

I recently bought a new Epox 4PDA3I. The manual with the motherboard states that Vcore adjustment of +.2875 is included in the BIOS. The manual on the Epox website also lists Vcore adjustment as a motherboard feature.
However, to my dismay it is NOT available in the Bios of the motherboard.

Epox advertised the feature, and it is the main reason I bought the motherboard. Why did they not provide it!!??

Try an older bios, and also search this forum about it and the 4pca3+ it has been discussed many times before.

Welcome to the forum btw

I found the information I was looking for, Epox disabled the Vcore selection on most motherboards with a Prescott CPU. Anyone know a way to bypass this? See below:

"Mainboard model name: EP-4PCAI
BIOS filename: 4PCA4319.BIN (8200)

Fixes:
1) Vcore value selection disabled when Prescott CPU is installed
2) Updated Prescott CPU micro code
3) Solved 16x4 memory boot issues (Error post code is "E6")
4) Modified system memory type string to EPoX Standards
5) Added "E" designator to identified 90 nanometers processor with 1MB L2 cache
6) Added Support for Prescott CPU"

Note: I have a Celeron 2.4 GHz Prescott CPU.

Get the newer BIOS version and you'll be solved http://www.epox.nl/english/support/b...os.php?id=1559

Hi, guys. Sorry for reviving such an old thread, but I also have the problem with no option for adjusting vcore in my BIOS. My board is Epox 4PCAI with a BIOS version from March 2004. Do you have any idea where I could find a proper BIOS file to flash my board with in order to get access to this setting? I have searched throughout the Net, but to no avail.

Thanks in advance!

The page you want to view. I've also attached the latest bios listed on that page.
Attached Files
File Type: zip 4PCA4A19.zip (306.8 KB, 3 views)

Thank you, Logan, but I have been on that page already and in the descriptions for the updated versions I did not find any mention for allowing to change the voltage of a Prescott.

Everything else on my system works just fine, so I don't see a reason to flash my BIOS unless I get access to the vcore setting.

Flashing to the latest bios is never a bad idea anyway. It may be worth a try imo. You can lead a horse to water!

Well, I did as you suggested and flashed my BIOS with the newer version. As I suspected, nothing was changed. My PC still boots and works fine with the update, but the vcore setting is still inaccessible.

Any ideas what to do next...? I am getting desperate...

Try a post in the EPoX boards section. ET (EpoxTech) might know of a solution. He has all the best toys.
