How about the Asus CUBX-E. Anyone have it?

So far, this Asus CUBX-E has worked well for me. As I've only run a Celeron 366 @550 on it, I dunno if it would handle a P3EB or a P3E @ 133 Mhz FSB.

From what I've read about this S370 i440BX board, you're not guaranteed that any particular P3E will run at 133 Mhz, FSB. Attaining 133 Mhz with ~85% of all P3E's was a lead pipe cinch with this board's daddy, the Asus P3B-F.

Anyone else have this mobo, or am I the only one that buy's weird mainboards from time to time?

Surely, somebody has or had this mainboard?

Yeah I have this mobo, got it from a junk pile in my school. Anyhow it came with a P3 socket 370 chip with it and I'm using a cool CPU Fan/heat sink i made custom for it . Handles very nicely.

Welcome to AOA Forums, Coolmatt!

Wowsa, this must be the most delayed post to answer a question ever. A pal now has the CUBX, he's running a P3 766 Mhz on it @550 Mhz. No BIOS update for this puppy for a loong time.

Well if you didn't want advice why did you ask the question! Moreover, if you lack patience to THIS degree you may as well just give the board away! LOL

I gave the m'board away recently. I held on to it for years, because I was in love with that S370 C-366 that ran at 550 24/7/365 cool as a cucumber at stock voltage. It was expensive for the time, even though it's useless nowadays. It's the pack rat in me. Now, what was the complaint?

Perhaps the miser in me prevents me from building a new box every four months or so. It's not that I'm proof against the razzle dazzle or the performance specs of the latest touted hardware combination. When I sit down and think about the latest in fast machines, I realize that I have no need for the performance level I already have. A 586 box would do just fine. I upgrade vicariously, watching one or more of our Members tussling with new hardware and finally getting it to work correctly. Pioneers, I salute you!

After the manufacturers(mainboard makers, I mean you) finally iron out the not so little bugs, I consider moving up in performance. And consider, consider, consider.

As a rule, Americans don't wait in line patiently. The British do it with grace, perhaps because they have the "racial memory" of being too close to starvation after WWII. It was no joke, Britain still hadn't recovered in the early Sixties.

No doubt, lack of money aids patience!

ALL oppression teaches one to lesson one bitterness and to cultivate patience in earnest. In my view God is always trying to tell us something":O}

God is a deep kinda entity it's easy to lose grasp on what the difficult ol' booger says. We hope that we learn over a lifetime, it may be all that we "take with us."
