Exclamation Cant OC anymore!!!!!

hi there to all humble overclockers hoping the new yr will bring you all the happyness you want!!!

anyways heres what i have to say.............

if you look at my signature you`ll see what rig i have, now there for about 2 months i was running my machine at normal spec`s......

eg...

P4 3.2 @ 3.2

Ram on auto defaults etc.....

Now when i want to overclock it back again ....i simply cannot with out the computer freezing or rebooting....

and even when i try to over clock the CPU from the Bios it just keeps restarting its self.......

i really dont know whats up with my rig, (is it a bad hair day?) i dont think so.

well any views on this would be gratefull

Kind regards

WoodeIrL

thats not an i875 board is it? which means you dont have PAT(GAT) settings? Try turning CPC off if you can. I turned off my CPC and that opened my ram up for all kinds of settings. My 3.2 Prescott is now definatly my limiting factor, be it cooling or the chip itself, but it won't go any further no matter what, but mine even does 3.9 with enough volts...your's should definatly budge.

Have you tried bios flashing? The most recent bios might help out, even the IC7-Max 3 I have says in the update notes that there is selectable multiplier(prolly 14-18x) on some p4's(not our chips though 3.2E's, unless we have different steppings). What I'm getting at is with selectable multi you can test if your cpu isn't budging or if your ram/fsb isn't. Have you tried running Asynch just to find out? Your ram outta run below spec, so if you go 5:4 and try changing the frequency and it fails it should be the CPU, since the ram is below what it would work at stock(3.2).
