I thought not mentioning the use of artic silver is standard because you know you suppose to use it? I can't believe this is really happening. Give me a break, will ya?

I think cadaveca was joking about this stuff so I took it well... but you seem to really believed what he said.
no I said I thought you were pulling my leg about the wax

then what's need for this kind of post? read below.
I said: "
there wasn't any thermal pad came with the heatsink like i mentioned the sink's base is silky smooth due to my lap job..

i really don't like dragging on something stupid that are not really necessary... Keep dragging about somebody pulling legs is what i'm not interested.... as I see the thread is already being disturbed by pulling legs. Open up a new thread and talk about pulling legs if that makes you feel better. ... but please don't pull your legs in this thread.

Have I offended you? If so I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, there was no ill will on my part I assure you.

And yeah I got the wrong end of the stick about the post on there being no thermal pad, I took that as meaning there was no interface between core and sink, my bad

The chip is doing great.. Running at 2.48ghz@ 1.58v vcore(3:5 fsb/mem ratio) in my tight case for full stability in gaming. Still using the same stock heatsink & fan. 48C load and 44C idle. I'm looking for some descent aftermarket heatsink for the chip... should allow me to get me few more fsb and maintain stability.

Check out this

http://www.silentpcreview.com/article219-page1.html

the Zalman CNSP7000 heatsink will fit your board, in that guide even without a fan it could keep the P-M at 51°C, with the fan on the lowest setting is was only about 10°C above ambient

The XP120 isn't an "ideal" for dothan chips... due to its size and tendency to crack the delicate elegant dothan core.... and especially that i have a tight mobile case.

so,

i get a XP90 and apply shims.

In order to perform this right and professionally i had to.............. take everything apart.

and take those black pads thingy outta my Applebread 1.6. don't wanna mess with my beautiful xp1700 xpmw 0311 thoroughbread chip...

Checked for "Contact".

Ran a simulation by putting the XP90 on my AS-V'ed dothan core...

It appears it's making "Contact".

This heatsink is so damn beautiful.... and stylish.

Most importantly, the cooling performance is there. That is why I always stick with Thermalright products since the good'ol SK-6 days.

Before i put em on, I lapped the XP-90's base, even though the base is quite well finished.

i doubt it... maybe maybe unless replace it with a tornado and at xtreme low ambient temperature... my room is at about 72F.

atm, using stocky lighted 80mm fan on the XP90 gives me 32C idle@ 2.5ghz@ 1.59v(vmodded).

Man... I get so turned on when I stare at those..... heatpipes. it's well finished too.

Heatsink in the Action...

it's doing its job.

those lighted fans are so pretty.

Blue lights in the first floor, and Red in second floor... gives a feel of separation.

mm those are Purdy.

i got the case from pcclub.com

it's a nice little tight case... comes with a blue lighted fan on the front. a 60mm fan will fit on the rear end of the case. I use a 25cfm 60mm Sunon fan sucking out warm air.

Yeah i'm using a card cooler slot, 80mm fan(blue light) blowing directly to the vid card. =)

btw that XP90 heatsink is a PERFECT fit for my systemboard and case... I'm so glad I bought it. Cools damn good.
