The CPU runs cool, runs stock voltage of 1.35v and good upto 2.4ghz.

In order to make the system run stable beyond 2.48ghz I had to perform Vcore mod(wire-drop-socket mod) and Vdimm mod to run 200mhz+ memory clk stable@ cas 2-2-2.

Voltage feeding 3.3v through my mem sticks. Wire connection between two points. Pic shown below.

stock heatsink/fan cooled w/ vmod running at 2.6ghz@ only 130FSB w/ default XTPE clock gives me 31,050

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8464466

Resulted in peak 748FPS in Lobby low and peak 638FPS in Drago low.

That just "squashed" my supercooled P4 prescott 3.2@ 4.3 w/ same card!! P4 gets me 28,200 w/ same card clock speed.

guys wanna see my superPi~?

Im so not up to date with intel CPUs, whats the score with this "dothan"? Has it just arrived from space to dominate all or what??? Where does it sit in terms of amd competion?

Nice system by the way!

Nice system by the way!
It's intel's mobile chip, part P3, part P4 and even with only single channel memory and a 400/533mhz fsb it performs in line with Athlon64's clocked about 200mhz faster
It's also ultra low power, and needs very little cooling
the problem is it's also very expensive, about 50% more than an equally performing A64/P4

You can get one for under £300 in the UK. Quite a good deal for a CPU with a 2MB cache.

Developed in Isreal as a mobile ie low clock high performence, its slowly working its way into the desktop arena. If only Intel would develop a nice desktop chipset for it.
