I wonder if these CPU's are Celeron 667 Mhz's? As this machine will be used where processor speed isn't an issue, that's not a biggie.

I don't think that there's any mystery in installing the CPU's, just carefully seat them in the two slots provided. Pin Number One will be marked next to the slots, and Pin Number One will be silkscreened near the bottom of the CPU's. Make sure that both procs show up in BIOS, badda bing.

Someone else will have to post what kind of cooling is required. They will each most likely need a HeatSink Fan unit.

Didn't want to give you incomplete advise about installing the CPU's, sorry. I remembered incorrectly that only Celerons came in the 667 Mhz flavor. Pentiums did too, my mistake.

The BTX form factor is supposed to replace the tried and true ATX standard. When, who knows? Can you tell us why the BTX case was unsuitable, please?

The move to BTX is an Intel marchitecture thing, I think.

Why did you bother to cast the "winning" bid on two boat anchors?

Some folks enjoy tinkering with older hardware. Some people have limitations on what they can buy. Kids, spouses, cars and mortgages can drain the wallet. A nice Danforth anchor wasn't cheap, the last time I checked.

Point taken but come on?When money's tight you gotta spend it right.I admit though that I myself have a P3 slotted processor that still runs well if I want to try something out.If you can make it run without having to invest in other residuals fine.If not, throw it overboard.
