time for an upgrade?

My current setup is:

MOTHERBOARD: ASUS P4SD-LA i865PE CHIPSET
CENTRAL PROCESSOR: INTEL PENTIUM 4HT @ 3.2Ghz*
MEMORY: KINGSTON HYPER-X 1024MB DUAL CHANNEL PC3200 DDR RAM
GRAPHICAL PROCESSOR: NVIDIA GEFORCE 7800GT AGP (when it arrives)
HARD DRIVE(S): MAXTOR MAXLINE III 500GB IDE ULTRA-ATA
NEC 3520A 16X DVD±RW/DVD+R/DL
HP 300C DVD+RW/CD-RW,6-IN-1 MULTIMEDIA CARD READER
POWER SUPPLY: SEASONIC SUPER SILENCER 450WATTS PSU
CASE: ALUMINUM COOLERMASTER WAVEMASTER MID-TOWER CASE
OPERATING SYSTEM: MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP MEDIA CENTER 2005

should I move to an athlon64 system? or just wait for a while and move to a dual core system in a year or two? I reallyyy want to get the 7800GT but I'm concerned if my system might bottleneck. Suggestions plz.

*=oc'ed from 2.6c intel pentium 4ht processor

Wait until the X2's price comes down, yes an A64 would offer some extr performance, but nowhere near enough to justify the outlay in my opinion.

As for the 7800GTX, yes it's likely your cpu could be a bottleneck, you may only get 90fps instead of the 120 the card is capable of etc.. but that just means you can use better visual settings without loosing performance. Your cpu is more than up to the task of any game, and a 7800GTX would be a good choice
