sound issues with motherboard

My setup is below. This is what happens when I overclock this board, I use CPUCool to overclock my system from 2.6c to 3.2ghz. All is stable, I restart my computer I recieve no sound what so ever. I go to WMP the song seems to be playing but no output. Reminder I am running onboard sound. BUT, when I shut down my computer and turn it back on I recieve the windows logon noise...but still no music when I use WMP or anything else. This is my solution please tell me if I am wrong, I am probably going to buy a Audigy 2NX which is an external sound card and plug it in a usb port, and hook my speakers up. I tried using one of my friend's old sound card (i believe hercules something like that)and putting it in a pci slot but i still had no luck, i starting to believe the bus speeds are incorrect. I have had various usb things hooked up and they work fine, so if i get the Audigy2NX and hook my speakers up to that will my sound work again?

I don't know, pardon me. This is an interesting question that deserves a bump.

Questions:
1. WMP = Winamp or Windows Media Player?
2. Do you have an AGP/PCI lock working on that board?
3. With clocks at stock do you still have sound problems?
4. Did you try to reinstall soundcard driver?

WMP= windows media player, I do not think that their are any locks on the board, since it is an Asus P4SD-LA propriety to HP a motherboard, and at stock speeds I have no problem with sound, and I have tried reinstalling the soundcard (onboard) but when I still oc, I still get the same problem. so if i install an audigy 2nx which runs on a usb port will it resolve the issue?

Try setting your bus to 400/533/800/1066 if it is not already; that might help by running the AGP/PCI buses at their proper speeds. It seems more of a software problem to me... if you're getting into Windows and hearing the logon sound, that probably means the sound controller is functioning properly.

Anyone else have some input?

where can i find the bus speeds? I tried going into the bios, but its all locked from hp's orignal factory settings. I have already updated everything, all drivers are all up to date. Is there any way I can flash this motherboard to a retail asus motherboard instead of this propreity motherboard? or is there a software I can use to change the bus frequencies?
