| Overclocking noob..questions regarding CPU temps Ok so... i have a P4 2.4GHz.. before i OC'd 5% i had a CPU temp of 30ºC and a case temp of 28ºC...now when my comp is idling @ 2.52GHz i have a CPU temp between 31º and 33ºC and a case temp of 30º .... i wanna bring it up to 10% makin it 2.64GHz but i need to know what a safe CPU temp is before i decide to do it.. Please helpp....

| It would be great if the CPU temp was really 30C. If the machine isn't in a very cold room I wouldn't believe that the proc is really running at 30C, personally speaking. My guess is that it's idling at ~ 40C. Adding another 15C to the corrected reported temperature under load will be just fine.

| oh ok... well i just went back to 2.4 because after like 5 days.. the sound driver crapped out on me..
