Swapping motherboards...

I'm expecting a new ECS motherboard and a P4 2.6 CPU in the mail so I can build my second computer. My concern is that the current computer that I have has a P4 2.6 CPU with Hyper Threading capabilities but the motherboard doesn't support it. The new ECS motherboard that I ordered does support Hyper Threading and I was thinking of either swapping CPU's or the motherboards all together. I'm worried about complications because the computer I have now works great and has a new SoundBlaster Live card and a Radeon 9800 128MB video card. The new computer I am building will be using an old Nvidia 440 (I think) 64MB video card. Both have 512 Ram. If I only swap processors then my old computer should run the same but still has better video capabilites and the new computer will have HT abilities that may never be utilized. But, if I swap motherboards then my old computer will have better video capabilites and HT that will be utilized.
Any complications you can think of?

I think windows might not like it so back up all your files now. Other then that there is no problem.

"The motherboard installation section essentially said "refer to motherboard manual for installation instructions". My motherboard manual of course said "refer to case manual for further installation instructions"."

The only reason I don't want to swap CPU and Video cards is because my old computer has larger and newer hard drives, and a new audio card.
But I am tired of the case... its the one I described in the modding forum with no sides.
I was thinking of only swapping the motherboards, but I don't know what kind of configuration problems I may get, specially with BIOS settings.

Here are the specs:

OLD______________
Intel motherboard
Pentium 4 2.6Ghz Hyperthreading
512 RAM
Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB
40 Gig Maxtor hard drive
120 Gig hard drive
Sound Blaster Live Audio card

New Built_____________

ECS motherboard
Pentium 4 2.6Ghz
512 RAM
GeForce4 MX 440 64 MB
60 Gig hard drive

Here's what I ended up doing...
I bought a new 3.0 Ghz Pentium 4 Celeron D processor and upgraded my old computer. Then took the old 2.6 processor and installed that into the new computer with the new motherboard. I also broke down and upgraded the RAM so both computer have 1 Gig of RAM.
My new ECS motherboard said that it supports hyperthreading in the manual and points out where to activate it in the BIOS, but when I got there, nothing. I'm wondering if the 2.6 processor is even hyperthreading???
Or I wonder if either board supports hyperthreading.

I got this motherboard
ECS
but how can I find out if the old 2.6 processor is hyperthreading?
Both computers work great. I can play Battlefield 42/mods and battlefront.

Good upgrades, well done. The Hyper Threading "switch" may be buried in the myriad settings of the new m'board's BIOS. One way to tell if it's working is if you see an "H T" within the P4's picture, or "block" that shows up in the BIOS screen during a normal boot.

If the Processor does not support Hyper-Threading, then it won't be visable in the BIOS. Sorry about that.
