asus p5w dh, not cheap but the fsb bus support is just amazing. i have personally got 340mhz out of mine (200mhz fsb chip ...) its used by pretty much everyone that has been pushing the engineering sample chips and hitting a 400mhz fsb with a core 2 seems to be possible and even more. The bios lets you set upto 450mhz (which some people hit with there chips!) but clockgen allows you upto 500mhz fsb |

I'd advize you to keep your current board or get the cheapest possible. Then when the nvidia nforce for conroe compatibles or ati RD600 boards start hitting the market, then upgrade. It looks like both companies are going to be there with a kickass board. And you don't want to end up grading up your board again within two months time.

the p5b which i just ordered has a bios update..... part of it states "Support max FSB from 400MHz to 500MHz" thats some serious overclocking

I'll withhold judgement on the ATI boards, but I sure wouldn't hold my breath counting on Nvidia to come up with an Intel chipset that actually will overclock worth a damn. Their last attempt was a miserable failure for overclocking on the Intel platform. I've also heard pretty good things on the 2 Gigabyte p965 boards too, with them being able to get close to 500 fsb already.

can anyone say somethings about intels own 975 board? thinking of getting a conroe, but I have a problem with the asus heatpipe solution, because I have an inverted ATX case and the board will be mounted upside down and I have a watercooling, so less airflow Has anybody seen a review of this board, overclocking options/stability and so? ...and why does asus cool only half of the mosfets?

Heatpipes dont really matter which way up you put them, they work on temperature difference not really gravity |
