pc boots on its own

Hi guys.

Question,is it possible for a pc to boot up on its own?Its shutdown then it just goes on by itself,any advice will be gladly accepted.
Its an Intel board,but i dont know the specs of it,will have to ask my buddy,its his system.

Some systems can be set to boot at a certain time of day in the BIOS, or power switch may be shorting out.

Often systems can be woken up by the real time clock - which is what Favu suggested. Also, there's often support for wake on LAN, wake on USB and the like. That means that a special packet sent across a network can wake a machine up, as can something happening on the USB bus. Usually you can turn these off in the power saving part of the BIOS though.

My AMD did this it turned out to be a dodgy PSU
