| Help with my Asus P5B using SATA Drive I don’t have the time to look through the forum to see how to solve this one guys, so please if somebody could point me in the right direction with this one I’ll be very grateful I have just put together My Core 2 duo system with a 500GB Hitachi Sata Hard drive connected the SATA 1 port. The problem is when I try to install windows XP with the drive it comes up with the Error "File \i386\KDCOM.DLL could not be loaded. Error code 32768”. Now when I try to install the driver by hitting the F6 button in the setup it doesn’t give me the option to install a driver for the drive. I have done this a million times with AMD boards. What am I doing wrong with this Intel setup? Sorry to be a complete noobe with this one.

| Not an expert on these boards but did have to do a clean winxp reinstall the other day onto a SATA drive on my P5b vanilla and I didn't have to press F6 to load any drivers so you may have a problem elsewhere like the memory. Brian V.

| Did you do anything in the bios that maybe helped with the installation? Was it in default or did you change anything?

| I found that when its start to the install it’s not copying any file to the hard drive, It doesn’t get to the bit where I could install drivers from the floppy. The drive is detected in the bios but windows has a problem to install to the hard drive

| So are you doing a fresh install and hitting F6 during the install? Do you have the boot drive set as SCSI or SATA in the bios? Make sure none of the boot devices are IDE HDD 0.
