Motherboard Flash Failure

Once upon a time... Someone Was flashing a motherbaord, (ASUS P5B-VM iG965)

Was using the Flash tool from Windows, sma erouting, update, did it once before... worked fine. Well this time got to like 60% and memory dump error and no posting afterwards.. System powers up, but no post, no display.

Is it gone? Forever?

And bought it like 2 Weeks ago form scan, will they repair it for free...

Gonna check CMOS Reset, take the battery out, and see if any progress...

But should i be worried?

UPDATE

Tried CMOS Reset, with Battery out... No such luck... Its not coming back.

The bios chip is the onboard type, like soldered into the board... Can i Still get a new one?

Other than that all i can do is give it back to Scan and see if they can sort it out...

OH AND, this rig was Folding for TEAM45!

Scan should be able to sort it for you, or give you a different board. This is one of the reasons I've always hated WinFlash. Too many opportunities for things to get totally borked when flashing your BIOS. If outfits are going to push the whole WinFlash paradigm, then they ought to do the dual BIOS thing like Gigabyte, so that if a flash updated goes bad you don't lose your whole system.

They do have a Crashfree Bios service, but it didnt work.. Its meant to start that utility up after getting the corruped one... But it sucked, it didnt do what it said would do...

Just gave a replacement board/cpu config for meanwhile, whilst i return this one! STILL FOLDING for TEAM 45! Even though not dual core anymore..
