Hmm, thought you could do this already as the chips exists and as that page says someone did it with a mac pro when the quad core xeons first came out.
Still alot of processing power in one box there!

seems i was correct as the 5300 (clovertown) series xeons are dual socket caperble quad core cpu's

lloks like the MAC board inverted, with straight DIMMs instead of the mounting PCB's for the fb-DIMMS. hardly anything special. You want that power, adn many pci-e slots? just simply buy a MacPro.
