| They're fsb ramps to 1333mhz to fit with the new *3* chipsets that are about to come out with ddr3 support. bottom end chips are sticking with 2mb l2 cache though there is some pentiums coming (read new celeron) which are the old yonah core. Its also a major price drop across the board, they're taking the price fight to amd and making room for more desktop quad cores |

| hmmmmm 6850 for 266 may be a worthwhile upgrade for me since this chip doenst like to oc, im doing my memory to gskill, my board is rma and getting a new one in the mail...might as well do the processor too!

Your E6400 chip is clocked at 2.13Ghz stock. You've overclocked it over 3Ghz with a much more broader FSB. That's almost a 1 Ghz overclock. I wouldn't call that a chip that doesn't like to oc ![]() That of course doesn't mean that an e6850 won't do better of course. But I'd say a 3 ghz core 2 chip will run everything you want. You might want to keep your current chip and wait for a 45nm Penryn or so. You're probably going to want one of those too, right? ![]()

| No these chips were going to be labeled E6420, and E6320, and would be the same chip just with the added 2MB od L2 cache so they would be all be up to 4 MB like the rest.....i know that i read this, i am trying to find out if anyone else read this as well, and when it is coming to fruition. |

| I just found out that these chips will be out next month. The E6420, and the E6320, which will both have the upgrade of a full 4MB of L2 cache, and both of these chips will be under 200 dollars! The E6420, which is the one i want is going to be priced at 183 dollars. Fantastic! Looks like i will be starting my build next month!!! |
