I thought of making a hole on the mobo tray...i wanted it to look neat and clean. | You need to sit back and think about your camera shots a little more. I am interest in wht you have built but, your pic just don't show it off at all! I am, not into updside down mobos. Which way do your cpu cooler fans blow? I just can't get anything from what you have posted. It looks like wires are strangling stuff all over in there. Clean it up and post up some better shots. You know something I like to do is take the side cover off and take a bunch of shots where I can see the whole case, even a little of my room around it on all sides. Then put the pictures up and study them and see what wires look out of place Then I go back to my case and make some changes then I do it all over again til I get it looking better. You can't avoid all wires but you can lessen their effect. WZ Last edited by weldzilla : 28th April, 2007 at 09:52 AM. |

| Very nice collection of parts. But how do they afford them? Keeps me scratching my head, but that doesn't automagically fill the wallet with the thick stack of lettuce necessary to keep up with the Jones'.

| hey WZ....ill try to take better shots....but i got a crap camera lol. Wires its very hard to hide most of em, i did my best with the cutting and putting it behind the mobo etc. will a clear shot of inside as is and let you judge. cloasters - only reason i was able to afford these parts is that i sold my previous rig for $1200au and spent $1700 for the new parts... so im $500au out of pocket... previous rig: amd 4200+ x2 / 7900 gtx / 2 gb mushkin xtreme / asus a8n32-sli deluxe bonesaw: will do proper benches this wk and post it....i tested 3dmark 06 i hit the 10800+ mark ....thats a major improvement from the 7900gtx but is that good enough for a 8800gtx?

At the moment i have it as 275x10. i tried 280x10 and it wouldnt boot....i had clear cmos. I havent tried to change volts...i just built it this past wkend - wanted to get up and running and stable first. will do various OC ing to see what i can get from this animal. just some suggestions from the xperts will help.....cheers

| find out from other people what volts get what cpu oc numbers and manually set your volts to the cpu clock you plan on using in the bios. look in the link i post for the benchmark thread and just get the benchs that we use. all are in the files link on the front page.

| I would guess (because I dont own an intel) that your issue is that as you're bumping up the fsb, you may be exceeding the maximum DDR speed. Perhaps try a lower RAM divider?

| i got it up to 300x10 and stable..... 3dmark06 score : 11166 another issue im having is that, when i check cpu-z the multiplier fluctuates? 10x to 6x which decreases / increases the speed. Is this like a thermal control thing? a bios setting or a windows setting?

| That would be EIST trying to save power by doing its underclocking when not loaded, to disable that there should be an option in power management in BIOS.
