Some way, somehow, the folks at HKEPC appear to have gotten their hands on a sample of Intel's upcoming 45nm processor, codenamed Penryn

Looks like a great processor, this is actually the first time I've seen 6MB L2 Cache :P.

Many xeon MP's have lots of l3 cache, and the itanium has just oodles of cache.

Newish benchies btw AnandTech: The Penryn Preview - Part I: Wolfdale Performance

they also include the first overclocking results, from a 2.33GHz chip they hit 3.22GHz (460fsb!) with stock vcore! (1.15v) and its only a pre mass production sample. tho final revision will be underway in the fabs by now
