Foxconn P4M800P7MB-RS2 boot issues

Hey guys.

Can anyone please give me advice on this issue, this board will not boot unless i restart the rig immediately after switching the power button. If i dont hit restart button on rig,it will boot, but just hang.Other times,if i do let it hang,it wont detect the hdrive,if it does eventually go past post, but give me the Ntldr error.Any advice welcome,i actually suspect the mb is dodgy, but after i restart,it boots normally, goes through post, detects all hware and goes to desktop.

1st, it sounds like a power issue. Could be caps on the board r your PSU.

Check for swollen caps on the board.
I don't know the brand, but a quick search brings up the specs, and it looks ok, but someone elses opinion who knows them would be better.

Check your connecitons, and I suggest updating your BIOS just to be safe.

If you have any overclocks, reset those (easiest way is to reset your BIOS / clear CMOS)

If you can try a different PSU - something a bit better known may be an idea, even if you can only borrow it for a short time.

500W is plenty, quality means alot though, and I can't tell if the ratings given for that PSU are absolute MAX for a low temp, or are max normal at normal temps - there can be a huge difference between the 2

hey guys.

gave it a try last nite using my Huntkey 5oow v2.2 psu, same problem.pc will power on but show no post and then tell me it cant find ntldr, after i hit reset button, its all good, goes through post, sees hdrive,as thats the main reason i realised why it doesnt boot properly,it never detects the hdrive on first boot.i think the mb is dodgy,im gonna toss it and get a new 1,an Asus or Gigabyte.

cheers and many thanks.
