Too bad you're so far away, I'd let you borrow a couple sticks to find out.

I haven't been able to get any farther regardless of what memory I use. I dropped down to a pair of 512MB sticks that do 1240 and still wasn't able to get anywhere.

It is still air=cooled only. With my Air-cooler it does not matter what I run, it has never seen higher than 52C on either core at this voltage setting or this high speed.
However when I slow it down I can get it to run 400o mhz easy on 1.247 V-core. Sorry for me that just won't do. I have the need for speed and this board and processor gives it to me.

My P5E with it's E8400 even gives me more!! The X38 chipset will clock for clock give the P35 a pretty good spanking. On my P5E I am running
4 x 1gig of G.Skill HZ set on the 5:6 divider with the timings set at 5-5-5-6. Pretty sweet at 500 fsb and DDR1200 with 4 sticks!

Both of these boards are just flat out dependable and strong!

You cannot go wrong with either. The 2 E8400's I have just keep on going and return mind boggling performance.

Well played Tom, I blame you for my shiny new 8400.

Tomorrow I'll take it further but for now I am happy with this:

4.5 jigglehurts is alot. I mean seriously, at 3.46Ghz, I'm feeling this is some serious overkill. 4.5Ghz would be even more overkill.

And overkill, is very very cool.

/seriously/ need RAM and a board that can handle 520+Mhz for some serious action. This 3.46Ghz crap is a little too limp wristed.

I want flames... Flames shooting out the back of the box... 5.5 Ghz!!!

Hey Weldzilla... You need to attach a propane torch to that box just for effect (unless you can actually get real flames shooting of the processor!).

Now that my friends would be SWEEEET.

lol

Hi shaolin95 & welcome to the AOA forums!
If you read through the threads you see voltages used for the speeds they are at. Mind you, this is for the E8400 & not the E8500 but it shouldn't be too far off from what you need to attain the speeds you want.
