| I love those motherboards btw, I've been buying that exact same board for builds recently, did several Q6600s with them, its like $130 AUD for it, and its brilliant. Has everything, even HDMI, and the wireless is surprisingly good too. When some of the high end boards cost $400 AUD, thats huge value for the features and performance.

| Hey dsio this was my fisrt with this board and I must say I really liked the whole experience. It is easy to set up does all you want it to do and yes the wifi works great!! cloasters I thought it was time to get away from the blues and the John Deere greens. The performance of this set up about gave me a nose bleed!! WZ |

| Good thing I sat down....good grief... Nice setup.... Looks like Intel is the way to go....

| Wow!! You know when I started with this combination of parts I had no idea just how unreal the results would be!!! Look at this OC on air this is unreal... This is just too good.. I am going to get this system Water cooled too... WZ |

| Woah!!! 4689.5Ghz on air! Not to mention this is the 45nm with 6ML2! Got to be good for gaming!!! ![]() I'm definitely going to get a Wolfdale for my next processor...The price is very reasonable now at $239. By the time I get it, it will be a lot cheaper still... I can only imagine what the Intel processors are going to be like in the next 10 years with the way their progress has been so far...unreal speeds! Woot!!! ![]()

| The sad thing is by the end of year your motherboard will be very severely outdated. Nehalem is going to make all current generation boards obsolete and that really bothers me. I've been wanting a Yorkfield for a while now, expected to get one in January, until intel screwed the pooch. Now if I buy one in March, and the new generation with a new socket and new chipset is out six months later, I'll be very pissed. Its a tough situation.

| OK, I managed to get my hands on one of these and did a little overclocking on it...not bad results for a first try heh? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...le54478Ghz.jpg

| THat would be a little nasty OC there.

| Was that OC on Dry Ice or a multi-stage setup? I might toy with a wolfdale if I ever finish my 2 stage phaser. I'm working on water cooling the evap on my single stage to try to tame this Q6600. If I can get the temps to stay below zero that would be a big help..

| Crap, I thought I'd bookmarked that page but I didn't and now I can't find where I got that pic from...sorry. If I find it again I'll post it. But yea, that's a serious overclock on the E8400! Anything over 5Ghz just amazes me... I found another but it's not the same post. 5Ghz on watercooling. Galaxy 8800 Ultra (stock cooler no mods) Wolfdale E8400 ES 5ghz 1m Vapo LS - XtremeSystems Forums From the other posts I've read, most have gotten well over 5Ghz, but all have been on Dry Ice...so the one on watercooling is pretty amazing... E8400 OC world record!

As tempting as the E series are I think I will hold out for a 45nm Quad and play with one of them for awhile.

| WZ is like the Caesar Millan of Intel CPUs. "You have to be the chip leader, and enforce calm, assertive overclocking"
