Yet AMD supposedly has a triple core processor in the works. Some say that these will be made from Quad Cores that didn't quite pass the mustard. Will two 3-Cores equal one Sextuplet from Intel? Mebbe if AMD makes their L2 caches gigantic by their standards. The future is radiant in its possibilities.

A dedicated 6-core cpu might actually make sense, or it might be a case of 'disable 2 cores on an 8-core chip' to improve yield. Time will tell.
