I will have to wait until prices drop before I even think about something like that.

10 hours. Fold on brother.

There should be some well priced Q6600's around as the 45nm parts come in to play.

Q6600 vs Q9450 with the same clock speed = 3% improvement in folding..

I'm going to push a bit harder once the temps and compound settles.

My radiator and grille is so badly caked with dust its probably worth cleaning too. Possibly the rad is a bit underutilized given that the fans on it are like 1200rpm 120mm fans, (3 of them) and they really don't shift much air, even less with dust.

I'm thinking, some 2700rpm panaflows and putting the grille / radiator through the dishwasher.

The more I think about it, those E2xxx chips just aren't very good imo. It took a lot of volts to get 3.3, and the 350Mhz limit must have been some interaction specific to that chip and this motherboard. Even small overclocks past 3.3 were unstable and issues popped all everywhere.

This motherboard just acts better in all areas over overclocking, dividers are stable that weren't before, higher fsbs are possible, and even higher ram speeds. All the issues I had are just not there anymore.

Really think that E2200 is a scrub chip that should be for stock use only.

The E2XXX are crap, no doubt about that.. It is fun once the OC starts to get hard to just hit it with more and more voltage. I had 1.825 going to mine for a little while. I'll probably make some dry ice runs and see how much voltage it takes to kill it. Haven't done that since my Socket 754 Venice..

I think the most I gave it was about 1.65V. that netted like 3.5 unstable. Clock for clock it was significantly slower than my Merom T7500 2.2Ghz laptop.

I would freak out with that much voltage.

I don't want to push it over 1.3. What can these things take?

I am running a E6400 @ 3.3 @ 1.25 volts.

I do believe stock rated voltage of the e6xxx CPU's is 1.35.

Daily voltage for me is 1.45, I can get 85 - 90% of what the CPU has to offer at that voltage.

Can my P5W DX run one?

If that is the case, I can probably get this thing much higher than it is.....

I just found that a 6400 is stock at 1.3....No wonder my temps are only 39-42 C on water....

I am doing 3.3 @ 1.25....That thing should do well at stock volts...LOL....

I don't think your board supports the new 45nm chips, the 975 iirc didn't support as high an fsb as the 965/P35/x38 either.

The 975X chipset does not support the 45nm processor. I already checked it out. I wanted to know if my board would run them but it won't, so if I want to use it, I will have to upgrade to a X38 or X48 chipset mobo.

Say Muffin, what do you think the best quad for the 975X ?

Are you using an external Maxtor hard disk?

With my source of income being at $0.00 a month I think you'll upgrade before I do...Besides, I still have a 3 year warranty on this computer parts and labor!
So even if I do have the money it won't be until after the warranty has expired.

Really, I have no idea...I'd ask Cliff. More than likely its the one everyone uses...Q6600 best bang for the buck.
As far as the stepping I don't know which is the better performer...the B3 or the GO. This is another Cliff question...

The Q6600's work pretty well on the 975X chipsets, G0 being the preferred. I have some notes on batch numbers or possibly wait until I revise my for sale thread this weekend.
