Intel Atom for $44

Digitimes is reporting that Intel have set the price of the Atom N270 notebook CPU (Diamondville) at $44. Presumably, this is the price in lots of 1,000. One wonders what the cost of laptops built around this chip will be?

I wonder how well it will fold?

Petty good trick that Intel can sell one atom for $44. I would be happy to sell a few million for that amount. Sale, Save, Save, Save! AMD is sooooo far behind, I hope they can catch up before they're irrelevant.
